Why Tenerife?

World's Best Stargaizing

While this bustling Spanish island is widely known for its spectacular beaches and busy nightlife, Tenerife is also considered one of the best places to go stargazing in Europe. In the darkness of the Atlantic Ocean, Tenerife's Mt. Teide, Spain's highest peak, is also one of the few places you can see constellations and different galaxies because of its elevation.

With no light pollution and cities vastly spread out, everything is completely lit up and you'll be able to see thousands of stars. An unforgettable experience for sure!

Places

My favourite places in Tenerife

Churrería Perdomo in Puerto de la Cruz

Churrería Perdomo

The best churros! And the best coffee. Close by the sea and the city center. What more do you want?

Address:

C. Mequinez, 3, 38400 Puerto de la Cruz

What I like about it

You get a huge plate with churros that can easily be shared by two people because it's too much for one. And then you dip your churro in the pot of hot chocolate and you are in heaven. And on top: kind service!

Hijuela del Botánico in La Orotava

La Orotava

A city from colonial times: The historic core presents an almost original architectural appearance. Visit the Hijuela del Botánico and the Casas de los Balcones!

Address:

Province Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tenerife, Spain

What I like about it

It is a very sweet and small city. But it has so much to offer: a beautiful botanical garden with so much old trees and then there is a terraced park with a view across the city to the sea.

Parque Nacional del Teide

El Teide

The Parque Nacional del Teide begins at an altitude of 2000m and reaches its impressive peak in the almost 4000m high Pico del Teide, which is still active.

Address:

Calle Doctor Sixto Perera Gonzalez, 25, 38300 La Orotava, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spanien

What I like about it

It is really breathtaking: The moment when you're over the clouds and you see the Teide above you. It feels like you're on another planet with all these dirfferent rocks and plants.
